Franklin Square Gallery, the
Associated Artists of Southport,
has begun its year long effort
for Empty Bowls 2025!  

Our Artists are busy creating one of a kind bowls to support the Empty Bowls mission to "eliminate hunger in our communities

ONE BOWL at a time". ​

What is Empty Bowls…​

• It’s a grassroots fundraising project to fight hunger and food insecurity.  Its mission is to “eliminate hunger in Brunswick County ONE BOWL at a time.”

• Originated in Michigan in 1990, by a high school pottery teacher and his students; now hosted by art communities worldwide.

• Potters and painters at FSG  will join to create hundreds of beautiful, handmade ceramic soup bowls that will be donated for purchase by supporters.

• On October 14, 2025, supporters who’ve purchased a $30 ticket will be able to attend the culminating event, from 11:00am -2:00pm, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Southport, NC.

• At the event, ticket holders will receive a simple meal and a gift - soup and bread to take home, donated by local participating restaurants, and one of those beautiful bowls created by our artists.

• There will also be a raffle and silent auction items available on the day of the event.

• All proceeds will be donated to Mathew’s Ministry, Brunswick Assistance and Southport, and Oak Island Food Pantry.
