PRESERVING OUR HISTORIC SOUTHPORT SILENT AUCTION FUNDRAISER - November 29 - December 6th
Just last year we became custodians of our building at Franklin Square Gallery in Downtown Southport and as such we've established a Capital Expense Fund. We are in charge of ALL of its maintenance, which going forward includes our elevator, roof, paint, plumbing, structure and anything else that can go wrong. In a 115 year old historic building, when these things go wrong, that they can be an expensive venture. This fundraiser is to assure that we have reserves in our Capital Expense Fund so our building continues to be maintained in its current lovely historic state, for the public to enjoy.
This week-long event will be with plenty of publicity. Auction sheets will be put out the day after Thanksgiving (November 29, throughout the Gallery) and Bidding will Culminate on the evening of December 6th First Friday in our Gallery. It will be a festive event! We have the Mayor attending with his donation and a distribution of a door prize from a Southport Jeweler!
